‘Zenith’ Daytona’s have become highly sought after over the past decade, and are widely considered to be the bridging reference between vintage and modern Daytona. For us, they hit the absolute Daytona sweet spot, with modern usability thanks to the Zenith-derived calibre 4030 with its automatic winding, while still retaining brushed lugs, and for the last couple of years of its production such as this piece, a solid endlink (SEL) bracelet and Luminova. It’s modern build quality meets vintage aesthetic.

This piece is an A-Serial, so hails from circa 1999. Case is thick and sharp. Numbers are very clear between the lugs. Has clearly been worn, and thus shows scratches and scuffs consistent with regular use. Caseback sticker remains in place. Please see images for full condition details.

The dial is a MKV, so has Luminova. No marks present. Hands show some light oxidisation.

Crystal has a few scratches just inboard of the sub-seconds register.

Bracelet is a 78390A with solid endlinks. Correct X (199) date code on clasp. Shows scuffs and scratches throughout. Contains 10 links, with one being from a later reference newer without a slotted section, which we added in as the bracelet was a little short without it. Will now fit up to a 7.5in wrist.

Service history is unknown, but probably due soon. Keeping COSC time at high 200’s amplitude, with a 0.7ms beat error. Thought we’d leave this to the buyer as to whether they’d prefer to have an independent service it, or RSC.
