Rolex GMT Master Pepsi 16700
These Rolex GMT’s needs very little introduction. The 16700 was one of the last of the pre-ceramic GMT’s, and differs from the 16710 GMT-Master II as it features a quick set date rather than the independently adjustable hour hand for using the GMT functionality. It’s personal preference, but personally I enjoy this setup as I adjust the date more than using the GMT feature, and it makes for a far easier ‘grab-and-go’ watch.
This particular example is a T-Serial dating from 1996 and presents in excellent vintage condition. Case is thick, with clear bevels in place. The case shows some scratching and wear commensurate with its age, with some minor dings and nicks present. Please see images for full condition details.
The bezel is lovely, with the red beginning to fade. There’s scratches, and some nicks present.
Dial is perfect. Hands are Tritium, with some degradation present.
Bracelet is a 78360 with 501B endlinks, and 10 links. Clasp code is V5, indicating it’s also from 1996 and therefore likely original. Minimal stretch.
Apparently serviced by the previous retailer here in Oz a few years back. movement is clean, all functions operating as they should, super smooth winding and keeping COSC time.
Comes with Rolex service pouch, and Watch Vault cleaning cloth. No box or papers.
A lovely example of perhaps the perfect neo-vintage Rolex reference.
