Rolex Explorer I 36mm 124270
The Explorer I from Rolex doesn’t need an introduction, I’m sure most of you you know what it is. Just in case you aren’t familiar with them, the Explorer I was one of the original tool watches from Rolex, and it’s lineage has continued unabated since 1953.
This latest 124270 reference was released in 2021, and has been downsized from the previous 39mm to 36mm, keeping in line with it’s historic sizing. It features an Oystersteel case, classic black 3-6-9 dial with Chromalight lume, and is mounted to the outstanding oyster bracelet also in steel. It’s powered by the new 3230 self winding movement with 70 hour power reserve, is waterproof to 100 metres, and is right up there with the best choices around for a one-watch, do it all piece in our opinion.
This particular piece was first purchased in April 2024 and presents in TZ ‘Excellent’ condition. The sides of the case and bezel show some light surface scratches and swirlies, though nothing deep. Lugs show some strap change marks, and there’s light rub marks on the case back where it has been resting on its bracelet. There’s also a tiny graze on the side of the case below the crown, which can be seen as a bright spot in the case side image. Please see images for full condition details.
The bracelet includes all links, and shows minor desk dive marks.
Comes with outer box, inner box, hang tag, guarantee manual, instruction manual, warranty card dated Q1 2024 and spare link to complete the bracelet
