Rolex Submariner 16610LV Kermit ‘F’ Serial
If you’re reading this you’re probably familiar with the famous Kermit Submariner, originally released to celebrate 50 years of the Sub. It’s a special piece in a few ways; green bezel, maxi dial, pre-ceramic case. It was the only Sub to have these features, and really makes it stand out from the rest and ensure permanent collectability.
This particular example is an F serial and dates from circa-2004 and first sold in 2005, and presents in TZ ‘Good’ condition. The case is thick and sharp, with clear bevels in place. Shows scratches and scuffs commensurate with regular use, with minor pin dents and nicks being the reason for the ‘Good’ rather than ‘Very Good’ grading according to the TZ scale. Please see images for full condition details.
The bezel insert has aged to a lovely hue with scratches present and a small crack/ship near the bezel pip. Dial shows no wear. Crystal is fairly clean, with a minor scuff on the cyclops.
Bracelet contains 11 links and would suit a roughly 7.8in wrist. Shows minor stretch, and desk diving marks throughout. Clasp code is CL10 so correct for a 2004 model year. Coronet on the clasp is pronounced, indicating only minimal polishing if at all.
Service history is unknown. The case back shows no service marks inside, and in conjunction with the condition of the screw heads in the movement, it’s possibly never been serviced. Currently running at around +15 seconds per day at 288 degrees of amplitude.
Comes with a very full set, with outer box, inner box, booklets, calendar, booklet holder, hang tag, punched papers (expired), bezel protector and the seldom seen anchor. A true collectors set.
A superb example of Rolex’s coolest 5 digit Sub.
